    Wedding arrangements over the years have seen several trends. With the arrival of the year 2011, weddings have become grander and more creative. From the decorations and dresses to the cuisines, all have witnessed something new as against the clichd styles. Just like the fashion industry, weddings industry is also witnessing new trends and the best thing to do is to stay in tune with these.

    Most of the weddings that have taken place in 2011 have seen new set of colors in the Dresses of Brides and Grooms. The traditional colors like maroon and pink have been replaced by the more modern colors like golden, beige and purple. Backless blouses and ghagras with heavy zardozi embellishment and crystal work will be in this season. To give an ethnic wear a modern look, delicate armlets with heavy crystal work can be attached to the blouses. For the grooms, sherwanis are likely to go maharaja style' and the most prominent colors are white, off-white and shades of red.

    There are latest designs in Bridal Mehndi too. Earlier, girls used to like full hand design but now designs with floral patterns which do not cover the full hand are preferred more. In Jewelry, brides largely look for pieces that match the wedding dress for which necklaces, bangles and earrings of colored stones and diamonds have become more prominent. Traditional, heavy gold jewelry has been replaced with designer and delicate pieces.

    As for the Wedding Invites, a simple envelope containing the card has become a pass. People now prefer a wooden box with a see through lid that makes for a stylish invite. The idea is to fit the sweets tray in the box and then cover the box with the invitation card. Moreover the more tech savvy people can go for e-invites which is a cost effective, environment friendly and creative option.

    The entry of the bride and Jaimala' ceremony has become grander and more dramatic. Jaimala is no longer conducted on the stage with bride and groom exchanging garlands. Now different techniques like revolving platforms, loud music with mythological characters and different techniques of flower showering are used to highlight the ceremony. In addition, Theme Based Weddings will be the major show stealers this year. People who wish to create a unique theme and make their wedding different from the regular ones can go for theme based weddings.
