- While conducting partner search, I have found an interesting profile, how can I contact the profile holder?
As a free member, you are entitled to "Express Interest" - the regulation message that we send on your behalf informing the profile holder that you wish to correspond to him or her.
As a paid member, you can send your own message - called the "Personalized Message", where we don't intervene in your correspondence with the profile holder(s). You can send any number of Personalized Messages to a profile holder which may even contain your contact information.
- What is an "Express Interest" and a "Personalized Message"?
Here again the difference in privileges for paid membership and free membership is outlined.
As free member, you can correspond to a profile, but that is through our Express Interest, whereby we send a regulation message of our own to the profile selected by you, informing him or her that you are willing to correspond to him or her.
Whereas, a Personalized Message is your own expression sent to the profile holders without our intervention - something you are entitled to as a Paid Member of MatrimonialsIndia.com.
- Does the probability of finding a match depends solely on my efforts, or would it be a "two-way traffic"?
It is a two-way traffic, where you would be inquiring profile holders, and would be receiving messages from other profile holders too. In addition, we shall act as a mediator, mailing you the profiles which conform to your "Looking For Criteria". Thus, we will ensure the maximum probability of finding a soul mate for you.
- Why am I not able to "Send Interest" again to the same profile holder?
Since an Interest is the regulation message sent across by us on your behalf, there's no use sending the same message again, since the content of the message remain unaltered. So, we don't allow you to Send Interest again to the same profile holder.
- Will anybody be able to reply to the Interest sent to them by me?
A Free Member can reply to "Interest" by sending his/her approval/decline for the same. But this is where your correspondence ends with that profile holder. You need to become our Paid Member in order to continue your correspondence with him/her.
However, a Paid Member can send you a customised reply (Personalized Message) in the form of approval from where you can proceed with the correspondence with him/her.
- I have not received the "Approval" or "Decline" against the Interest Sent by me to a member at your site. How can I contact him/her again?
Since as a Free Member, you cannot Send Interest again to the same member, you need to get our Paid Membership in order to contact him/her again by sending a Personalized Message of your own.
- Can I send messages to any member at MatrimonialsIndia.com?
Yes. But the type of messages vary in accordance with the type of membership you have on MatrimonialsIndia.com.
If you have enrolled as a Free member, you will be entitled to Express Interest - the regulation message sent by us on your behalf to the profile holder selected by you. This means that you can't compose a message of your own as a free member.
As a Paid Member, in contrast, you'll be privileged to compose and send across your own message - a Personalized Message, and we won't intervene in your correspondence at all.
- Can I as a paid member, send and receive messages from members who have FREE membership?
Yes. You can send Personalized Messages, to the FREE members and they can also reply back to your query by logging into their folder and using "Personalized Messages Received" section under "Personalized Messages".
Moreover, whenever you send a Personalized Message to any member, we send him/her an intimation mail, informing that he/she has received a Personalized Message and must check his/her Personalized Merssages section to reply to the same.
- How can I keep track of the messages initiated and received by me?
A separate section has been designed to help you to keep track of the correspondence you have made as well as the correspondence being made to you on the site. This is the Personalized Messages section in your folder.
Members - Who Contacted Me is a link that displays all the messages sent to you by other members. It is further divided into :
Interest Received - Contacts intitiated by FREE members with you.
Personalized Messages Received - Contacts intitiated by PAID members with you.
We also provide you stats regarding the total messages or new messages received for your profile.
Similarly, the option Members - Whom I Contacted shows the detail of members you corresponded with (where you initiated the contact), or the exact messages that you had sent across to various profile holders with the status of the correspondence, that is- if the message has been seen by the recipient or not, or if he or she is interested or not. You can also remind those members who have seen your message but haven't responded to your correspondence.
Here also, you can keep track of the total messages sent by you and the number of approvals / replies received for the same.
- What is the option of "My Favorites"?
This is our facility to ease off your effort in browsing through the search result pages to find a suitable match. There's a possibility that you come across one or more interesting profiles to which you would like to get back later, after you have finished with the search. What you can do is that you can "Add the profile to My Favorites", that is - you can bookmark that profile while you are searching and after you are through with it, you can click on the link "My Favorites" in your folder to get back to the profiles which had earlier enticed you.
- Do you also send me newly posted profiles that match my "Looking For Criteria"?
Yes, we do send you the profiles whose attributes are in accordance with the looking-for criteria specified by you as our endeavor to do our best for you. However, if you don't wish to be mailed such profiles, you can, at your discretion, terminate the service by deactivating the "Mail Me- Newly Posted Matching Profiles" option after logging into your folder.
- A member is not responding back to the "Personalized Message" I sent to him/her. What shall I do?
If the message has been seen by the profile holder, but hasn't been replied to, then you can send him/her the reminders to prompt him/her to respond. To do so, click on the "Member- Whom I Contacted" link in your folder under "Personalized Messages" section and subsequently click on the "Remind" option against the message that you had sent to the particular profile holder.
- Do you delete all the contacts from "Personalized Messages" section, after a specified period of time?
Yes. All the Personalized Queries received prior to 45 days from the current date are deleted from your Personalized Messages section by MatrimonialsIndia.com. This is to ensure that you receive better and fast responses from our other members. So, in case you receive a Personalized Message, try to reply as soon as possible, lest it would be deleted after 45 days.
- If I delete my profile, what will happen to my contacts?
Whenever you delete your profile, we explicitly ask you if you want your "Contacts" to be deleted along with your profile or not. If your discretion is "Yes", we delete all the contacts from your Personalized Messages section.
However, if you are our Free Member, then the Interest sent or received by you are not deleted, even after your profile is deleted.
- Can I send my contact information or Email ID in the "Personalized Message"?
You are free to compose and send across your own expressions in the Personalized Message, including contact information. The only forbidden message to be sent is the one containing some disparaging, assaulting or obscene wordings. Please ensure that your message is not containing any objectionable content, as this would lead to termination of your membership with immediate effect.
- How shall I come to know about the messages sent to me by other members?
You have an option titled "Personalized Messages" provided in your folder which is meant to keep track of all the inquiries sent to you as well as initiated by you.

from where you can see the status of your contacts and can reply to the members.
In addition, we also drop an e-mail at the address furnished by you, informing you about the correspondence made to you, and you can logon to your folder from there itself to proceed to respond.
- Is it obligatory to reply to correspondence being made to me through MatrimonialsIndia.com?
It would be considerate on your part to let the inquirer know if you are interested or not. But as such you are not bound to reply to the inquiries you receive.
- I have to send the same Personalized Message to many members. Can I save that message and use it for later?
In order to solve this problem of yours, we provide you with a unique feature of "Templates". Here, you can create your own personalized messages and save them as templates for later use. The templates saved by you can be used, while sending Personalized Messages or contacting any profile holder at MatrimonialsIndia.com.
This prevents you from the need of writing the queries or messages again from scratch, thus saving your precious time and efforts.
